New Clients, New Work Means We Need New People

Mike Sweeney | June 30, 2010

This is either the most boring – or perhaps the most exciting – blog post I’ve ever written. That’s not for me to decide, I guess it depends on who are you and how you know the Right Source Marketing team.

Long story short, we’re in the fortunate position that we need to bring some new folks onto our team in order to address some new clients and new projects.

For those of you who don’t know, what we do is provide outsourced marketing leadership and teams to growing companies.  We’re not a temp agency.  We’re not an ad agency.  We’re not a consultancy.  We provide full-scale marketing solutions to companies that are ready to address marketing in a comprehensive manner.  Those solutions come in many shapes and sizes, and we work with companies large and small, but the one thing our clients have in common is this: they recognize the need for marketing strategy and execution coming from one source.

On with the show.  While we’re open to hearing from folks at all levels, you’re going to receive extra special attention if you can help fill one of the following roles:

Marketing Manager

This is our most pressing need.  I could list 38 different things you’ll need to be involved in, but that would make for a very long blog post.  This is a roll-up-your-sleeves, learn it if you don’t know it, adjust on the fly, generalist position.  In a given day, you might do the following:

  • Set up an email campaign in one of 3-4 email marketing programs.
  • Distribute content via social media and social bookmarking sites.
  • Write a blog post.
  • Update content on 3-4 client websites.
  • Write meta tags for SEO purposes.

This is almost definitely a prove it part-time, then get hired full-time type role.  Can be located in Baltimore, Northern Virginia or places around those areas.

WordPress Designer, Coder, Content Manager

Also a pressing need.  We’re big fans of WordPress, and many of our client websites and blogs reside on the platform.  We need someone who is comfortable with the full scale of WordPress-related activities, such as:

  • Create initial wireframes.
  • Design initial comps.
  • Take comps and turn into functional site/blog.
  • Recommend/add widgets and integrations for optimal content management and tracking.
  • Update content and fix issues on an ongoing basis (webmastering).

This is a contractor position, and can be located in Baltimore, Northern Virginia or places around those areas.

We put a very high value on writing, and we try to work with clients that value good writing as well.  We need folks that can write well, write efficiently, and require minimal direction.  Many of our clients are in technology or software, so you need to have experience taking unfamiliar concepts and turning them into descriptions that an average businessperson can handle.  In a given week, you might write:

  • A press release
  • A blog post
  • A page of website copy
  • A directory submission
  • A white paper

And everything in between.  Much like the Marketing Manager position, this is a prove it part-time, get hired full-time position, and/or we’d also love to talk with independent contractors that may be interested in working with us.  Writers we work with are located all over the place, although there is value to us if you’re in Baltimore or Northern Virginia.

We form Interactive Marketing All-Star Teams for our clients, and we like to fill those teams with people that fit the characteristics in this post.   Go ahead and send a resume if you’d like, although we’re likely to place more value on the way you communicate with us.  [Read: Don’t blast a resume or portfolio without showing that you read this post and understand what we’re looking for.]
